Sorry, taxpayers this is a need to know issue. As the Supervisor teams up with Brookhaven for a publicity stunt you should know, abuse is done continually with the taxpayer owned vehicle, gas and insurance by the very person accusing again employees. We can ask "what does St Anthony private school" have to do with Islip? Well it's in Huntington and the Supervisors son attended there. The Supervisor uses the taxpayer paid vehicle to go to this Huntington based school for various functions. The town of Islip has nothing to do with Huntington private school. But Supervisor Nolan uses our paid car for his personal use to it. Why doesn't he use his Mercedes to go there?
Our Supervisor now joins his Brookhaven (known as Crookhaven) friend to get publicity, even though false again to the public. The supervisors, noting high fuel prices and saying their fleets have been mismanaged for decades by previous administrations, said they will increase accountability and reduce waste by tracking vehicle use and creating new rules on who can use town cars, and for what purpose. Supervisor Nolan needs to take a good look in the mirror, again accusing others when he is guilty of the very issue.
Approx $100 a week you pay for the supervisors friend to drive to and from work, besides his salary, ins and benefits.Supervisor Nolan must have a real good excuse then giving his friend a vehicle, Mr Lapham whom lives in "Port Washington". Works in DPW of Islip driving 366 miles a week with our paid car to work and home, but that's ok. Then when in Islip uses another vehicle. I call this a hypocrite and more. The Supervisors puppet was just given a car R Baker whom lives 9 miles away, you pay for him to come to work too, then drive all over creation spying. Someone send a memo this is Islip town not the Whitehouse in Washington DC, enforcing homeland security within the area.
Funny a foil was put in for all vehicles given out and now besides Nolan being in severe violation of the public information law it has been since FEBRUARY 22 he has stalled this foil. His partner and he come up magically with this bogus story in newsday to his favorite reporter again. More will follow... (remember this story)---- ****6/24 A bump in the road BY ERIK GERMAN Days after Brookhaven Town Board members unanimously voted to buy themselves brand-new SUVs, several said they want to reconsider the move and revisit the town policy granting them free, taxpayer-funded cars. The board authorized spending $174,000 on six hybrid Ford Escapes Tuesday as part of $1.3-million bond package to purchase 44 new vehicles for the town. Most of the money - consistent with the town's standard yearly outlay for new vehicles - will replace worn-out work trucks not worth repairing, town officials said. The report found town employees drove more than 500,000 unauthorized miles in town-owned vehicles last year - much of that in 142 take-home cars. AND NOW THE SUPERVISOR WANTS TO BRING THEM HERE
6/12-- Now lets see at 4.29 a gallon of gas you pay for, this publicity stunt van said to be used to take cancer patients to chemo, (besides the fact of it being a very private issue) well, two workers at starbucks or the hardware store(not) for chemo? Driving around on your hard earned money! Shame $ I wonder what Newins Ford whom donated it thinks of it being used for coffee runs or hardware? But we still pay ins, registration and gas.
Taxpayer vehicle, personal use, Town Clerk of all people shopping.
