BREAKING NEWS- The supervisor committed the cardinal sin. The 3rd most powerful person was approved not to live here against State Law. If the Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor are out of commission the Town attorney is to run the town. Now the Supervisor has said he will allow someone from Brookhaven to run this town! You should be ashamed to have your hand picked pro-speakers, talk as t!he current excellent town attorney was not even there and was trash But the taxpayers know ashamed is what you seem to enjoy and disregard as failure to us. Also LIED to the tax payers.
Islip chief seeks law change to hire fellow Dem
Islip Supervisor Phil Nolan wants to rewrite town law to hire former Brookhaven town attorney Robert Quinlan, one of 10 Democratic employees ousted last week by Brookhaven's new Republican majority.
NYS code requires that the town attorney - and a handful of other appointed officials - reside in Islip. Nolan brought Quinlan onto the town's payroll yesterday as assistant town attorney, while town officials worked to craft a resolution to eliminate the residency requirement for those positions.
What a magic experience- picking a friend just let go from Brookhaven- alleged Nolans head leader pressured him to hire all democrats, what money can buy? Supervisor Nolan declares Islip Town resident Lawyers unfit to work in the town Went against State Law of residency for elected and appointed officials
Islip is a first class town, state laws are what is to be followed. To over- rule the supervisor was comparing Islip of over 300,000 people to a small town in Beekmantown of 5,581 people receiving lowest grade on all levels. This was meant to get over on you. What a disgrace to you! There is and never will be a comparison. The residents demand justice and will fight for it, not belittled and embarrassed with the taxes we pay. Don't forget you work for us, we pay your salaries.
WE WERE SUCKER PUNCHED!-Supervisor LIED to the tax payers at Tuesdays town meeting. He stated to all he was upset over the Comptroller not living here. He LIED. He stated and was know he did not care of he not living here that "HE OWNED HIM!" The comptroller quit. So please taxpayers we're in this fantasy world of falsehood of the supervisor.
Lied just to get votes! Councilman Steve Flotteron said that a "hard-working" and "ethical" person was needed to step into the role. In regard to the search, Flotteron said he was troubled that the supervisor wished to perform a "metropolitan" search, and questioned its legality. He maintained that the search should only be done within Islip. However, Nolan stated that he wanted "an Islip Town resident or [someone who is] prepared to move into Islip." If a non-Islip resident seeks to serve as town attorney they must establish residency, he confirmed in a press release.
By the way this was already done YEARS ago.
