The shame of this man to send out lies to hard working residents is sinful! A memo long ago was sent out along with retired personnel, dropped fuel use, this was proven long ago.  Opposed GPS! Mr. Bodkin was caught using the town car to go to his job in NYC, he had over 30,000 more miles than any other councilmen. He no longer has a car since he was caught! Opposed, yes at $17,000 a month to taxpayers and this Nolan reform team SHUTS off the gps cell phone not to be caught! A PROVEN FACT! Shame on you. Another worker was caught fishing on 5 occassions, he was rewarded with 6 months pay to stay home! Mr OLeary totally abuses the town car, travels to and from East Meadow and gets rewarded with a $103,000 a year job and all the time off in the world and go anywhere clause!

Approx--$40,000

Now this is great, GPS did not catch this guy from housing. This worker must be very good friends with the new administration as he too was shopping with the town car in the late afternoon. Not only using the town car but had the ordasity to go into the same liquor store as the town clerk did with the town car but IN  HIS TOWN UNIFORM and then brown bag it and go to Boston Market! Why in gods name does no vehicle from housing have accountability! They must all figure if the town clerk can do it so can we.

Nextel phones with GPS bills in the hole! With an amount monthly through the roof for something that "does not work" it's no wonder.

1/22-- How can Brookhaven state it will cost over $250,000 and Mr Nolan can't account for  his financially. 200 free, please. The rest so he says NO SUCH DOCUMENTS EXSIST, per foil! What possibly was the request for Mr Nolan to have another $47,000 no explanation, put in to his new comptroller (friend from Huntington)?

Isn't it funny how everything is saving the taxpayers money!

First the Supervisor grand stands gps to save thousands, then cameras to save thousands, gives cars to all his friends (2.5 miles, himself .66 miles, another friend 350 miles a week, over 2million in payroll he has hired friends)

Islip, Brookhaven to reform policy on town fleetsBY JENNIFER MALONEY  April 2, 2008  Two Suffolk town supervisors - Islip's Philip Nolan and Brookhaven's Brian X. Foley - yesterday announced comprehensive reforms of their town fleets, saying they will save taxpayers in each town hundreds of thousands of dollars over the next few years.

Lets see three different stories, guess one story after another you forget what was said. Three different grand stands. But the kicker for these cell phones (gps) a two year plan was signed. All this money now you want to get rid of cars. What the heck is going on, we will still pay for your ignorant doings, $16,000 a month. Besides the fact NO purchase orders can be found.

Last year remember the foolish talks for publicity-Nolan had GPS devices installed in 614 town vehicles in May, saying it would save taxpayers money. "These systems need to be embraced because they work," said Town Supervisor Phil Nolan.                                          He believes that the GPS devices, which currently are in place in each of the town's 650 vehicles.                                                                  Islip will immediately cut its 648-vehicle fleet by 10 percent and hopes to send an additional 5 percent to auction by the end of the year, Nolan said.

***)10/6- How bad do you think the administration is worried about someone stealing the cell phone(gps capable)? Why in gods name was this town truck parked in this lot which is so dark at night anything can happen? This taxpayer vehicle was left here for 3 weekend nights,a Friday, Saturday and Sunday! No less right across from the town repair center which has a locked area? Why, was the stealing before a publicity stunt? Why would this be allowed? Can you find it in the dark nite? But I bet a robber could if he wanted!

HUGE VIOLATION, What else will he do!!! In a hurry up effort for self promotion we are put in harms way of our cash!

NO vote, NO research, NO authorization what so ever your money wasted. We can not allow this wreakless self serving behavior. CELL TOWERS can't give exact location as if researched Satilite can!!!

There was NO board approval for this foolish stunt! Your hard earned money wasted on proven failure!

According to article given by the Supervisor to Suffolk Life it is an outright lie, a vehicle can be found by the gps, well can you tell the exact spot of this vehicle? This car is in one spot, not four? It also works off a cell tower not satilite and is a waste of tax payer money, read below for more information.       "I'll let you in on a secret--The address the car was at is not even picked up!"

""Information being gathered you need to see and won't like.""

Why were the taxpayers told this is a GPS Unit, it is a cell phone with the capability as an "extra".

For this NO board vote or discussion, no bid, no research. Just wasted taxpayer money for a vote all in the name of FRAUD.

Town of Islip- Upon your freedom of Information request on bids for the GPS. Please be advised no such document exist.

 Nextel i355 Cell Phone

Product Details:The i335 is an entry-level, candy-bar-style walkie-talkie phone that's all about tactile feel: a rubbery keypad, a textured back, and silvery, rubbery sides. It's coming by the end of the year.Rugged Design: Performs in extreme conditions: Resists drops, dust, vibration from heavy machinery, extreme hot or cold temperatures, low pressure, and solar radiation.  MMS: Send or receive audio, images, text, or all three to and from email addresses or other Nextel MMS enabled phones. Mobile Locator feature allows you to pinpoint the location of the phone from any computer, extra cost. Speakerphone allows for hands-free conversations.

The rubbery finish and sleek styling are a welcome departure from the normally staid designs we’ve seen in the past - even if it is on a low-end
handset that lacks a camera.

With these cell phones and the cell phones already used by town employees it will cost close to $25,000.00 a month to maintain in fees. Then the pay for the Supervisors friend 1305.00 a week to look at pictures? The residents were totally lied to by the information given to the media. There were never over 200 cell phones at any time. These were also given to us because Brookhaven did not want them, red flag? Each department already hs two-way radios. Upon Mr Nolan coming in he immediately spent over $100,000 more for two way material, $22,000 which was sent else where? While all other purchases were sent to a deptartment.

The taxpayers money has become a pleasure for the new administration to just spend spend spend.Cell phones are being kept plugged in activated if your called to plow (outside plowers), take one! So we pay for all these phones for what! To  lay around and be paid for, your money wasted! Our money is no object!

Supervisor-Out east , your gas money!

4 in the morning! What is the Supervisor doing riding around? Numbers shown in last column are moving activity picked up. 00 means still.

If any one person would want to know what a vehicle did, for ONE month, ONE car it is 384 pages to read! Cost 100.00, but you can just view, no cost!

1/25--newsday-- GPS catches Islip worker's unauthorized use of car--The town investigator followed Dicey back to the airport, but lost him.  Great cell phone tracking!  (why then was the Supervisors town owned car to Southhampton, Huntington and Babylon old stomping grounds! Out 3, 4 in the morning-- )  Taxpayers could this be only what we want to tell?

The accountability is unheard of, THERE IS NONE, for any vehicle the position sitting still gives out over 10 different addresses.  Never gave the real address on the street, so where is it! One car one place over 5 addresses!

The question was given "If the accountability is so great then why weren't all these people picked up?"- we've got, going to Block Buster, Walbaums, Stop and Shop (more than once- were told and no one cared!), Ins Company, and more! example-

It has to stop, taking money for something obviously not working right but the supervisor doesn't care! $43,240.00 more just put in to spend 10/07, your money

There was a memo sent out Aug 06 "Fuel Conservation." Asking all employees  conserve on gas due to rising cost. This was thought of never to be found. Hours cut, people retire, services limited all contribute, not phantom gps.

Nolan given out the biggest con, gives Newsday Bull story                                Lets figure this out--10/12

This guy thinks all people are idiots.
He spills out a rumor gas was stolen so everyone will look.(Thinking with all the cuts you won't figure it out) Cuts over time for most, has one of his hacks get paid 1250.00wk to drive around taking pictures of workers to scare them, no plowing, cuts out code enforcement afternoon, but has people hanging out after 9 at the repair shop( maybe they were free) then tells newsday:
Look what I did, someone please!
"look how much gas was saved from GPS"
I can say it's the biggest load you've ever heard! And now you will see, the plow job you've been given!
Told to newsday-10/12
Nolan said a four-month town investigation found discrepancies suggesting that tens of thousands of gallons of fuel have been misused or possibly stolen.

There was none stolen-just rumor for own benefit

Other towns do it right? Why don't we----

Newsday.comBrookhaven town-owned vehicles will soon have GPS

Brookhaven has moved closer to joining the growing number of Long Island towns placing Global Positioning System devices inside municipal cars, trucks and other vehicles.
The town will pilot GPS in 200 to 250 vehicles, at a cost of about $250,000, said Deputy Supervisor Jack Schnirman. But he said the town expects to recover those costs by using the devices -- which can broadcast a vehicle's speed, direction and location -- to reduce Brookhaven's fuel, mileage and operational costs.

The Brookhaven Town Board Tuesday passed a resolution stating the town's commitment to equipping Brookhaven's 646 town-owned vehicles with GPS as soon as a vendor is chosen. A working group of representatives from several town departments put out a request for proposals from GPS firms earlier this year, Schnirman said, adding that he expects units to hit the streets in the next two months.

The precise time frame depends on whether the town can go with one of the vendors that has responded to the town's request for proposals, or whether a formal bidding process must begin from scratch, Schnirman said.

Schnirman said William Walsh has opposed early proposals to place GPS systems inside the town-owned vehicles of Brookhaven employees.

But Walsh said Wednesday that he had "no position" on installing the positioning devices. Asked to elaborate, he hung up the phone.

This shows Brookhaven is researching for a decision. FLAG

The board has not decided

Nolan did it alone no research

You have seen there is no accountability just intimidation knowing there’s “GPS”

Waste of money.

Town vehicles sitting around, some used- NO GPS, others just wasting your money with GPS. But how is it said EVERY vehicle has GPS (cell phone). They certainly do not. Selective for certain cars, not all!

PLUS, NO accountability for them, your money.

This vehicle was a poor choice for- "look at me cancer treatment free rides- now elect me, Mr Nolan!" The discuss to use this because the challenger was a cancer surviver! No one uses this, treatments are private, not something to advertise. This vehicle is being paid for by you to sit there, insurance, gas and registration along with maintenance. Has not moved!
