** January '08 will be a New Year filled with shocking surprises and not so shocking surprising news, be safe and enjoy. Where you ask, is your hard earned money going?
How true a quote I read----This country was built on "We the people" NOT "we the politician" Politicians are out to better themselves..always. And will continue to do so as long as the people continue to fail to keep a watchful eye on them.
Hey moms with birthday parties, this one's for you- see Builders Alert
6/5-Who would you blame if someone drowned, the Town or the owner? See Builders Alert
* With everything becoming more expensive we deserve to know exactly where and how our hard earned money goes. Although several attempts to discredit this site in giving you the honest truth in any way shape or form, all public information is yours to have and I chose to supply the knowledge to you. The information given on this site has been proven true and with much dislike for you to have this knowledge. Remember the papers for some reason print what their told, not what is so. To all taxpayers and residents --as you know "false" accusations have been made, but in NO WAY were any admissions made ever written or verbally, ever. Please read between the lines, as we are smarter than that, Thank You. The news to you is obviously serving its purpose.
**The problem the town seems to be facing is, giving the newspapers only snips of detail for the taxpayers to read, instead of all the details good and bad.
6/23--See- New laws not for?
6/12-- Now lets see at 4.29 a gallon of gas you pay for, this publicity stunt van said to be used to take cancer patients to chemo, (besides the fact of it being a very private issue) well, two workers at starbucks or the hardware store(not) for chemo? Driving around on your hard earned money! Shame $ I wonder what Newins Ford whom donated it thinks of it being used for coffee runs or hardware? But we still pay ins, registration and gas.
6/12--Now this town must be very, very rich. As papers received state, the administration says this brand new pressure treated lumber cost the tax payers nothing, "It was laying around." Now how can fresh newly dated, still labeled lumber $4,000 worth be just laying around? Hum
This was addressed (no response) for a 4th time, but this time by Councilmen Flotteron, NO response by administration, we now have our answer.
6/11- Upon several attempts through the town and even a worker whom lives in the immediate area, a nose up to our young new drivers safety. A town law by its own administration has and is tossed aside. Lives of the young have been shown by our own new reformers to be worthless. We have many children in this area, but none to spare! SHAME ON YOU. The town residents would hate to hear of anyone seriously hurt or fatally injured due to this neglect, as it could result in serious consequences.
At this corner of Timberpoint Rd. and Campbell Lane you cannot see either way cars at the stop signs, so they go right threw. It's called by town law motorist obstruction. The supervisor and its administration chose to ignore. Only the chosen have to comply. We can't see you so why stop?
§ 68-404. Obstructions to motorist’s sight. Visual obstructions to a motorist’s view at the intersection of streets or driveways are not permitted at any time within any sight triangle, as specified herein. Such obstructions include but are not limited to any sign, hedge, fence, shrubbery, foliage, automobile or other object as determined by the Town of Islip, whether movable or stationary, which is higher than three feet and lower than eight feet above the adjacent edge of pavement. Such obstructions shall not include existing buildings, public utility poles, traffic control devices, natural grades, sign posts or small trees which do not exceed 12 inches in diameter or 38 inches in circumference and which are trimmed to the trunk leaving a clear area between three feet and eight feet above the adjacent edge of pavement
B. No fence shall be higher than four feet above the ground at any point when set back less than 15 feet from a street property line. For corner lots, no fence shall be higher than four feet above the ground at any point when set back less than 10 feet from the second front yard property line. [Amended 1-14-2003; 8-12-2003; 12-12-2006]

Town installs solar panels at compost facility------ Spending like a bull in a china shop, think this is the first time for access to check book? po·ten·tial --- 1. possibility; potentiality: an investment that has little growth potential. 2. possible, as opposed to actual 3.a latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed.
6/4-- Spirit Airlines Ponders Cutbacks Spirit Airlines may lay off or move up to 60 percent of its flight attendants and 45 percent of its pilots in an effort to cut costs and deal with soaring fuel prices, according to letters released Tuesday...(That's 50%) "Remember this statement back in April"--Supervisor Nolan added, "I am convinced the Town of Islip and Spirit Airlines will have a long and fruitful working relationship. Supervisor Nolan called the deal a 'winning equation,' saying, "The arrangement between MacArthur Airport and Spirit Airlines. Do you think Mr Nolan and side kick Councilman Bodkin are drinking to the fact they tried to pull off another grand stand to the people? see Airport hot air for more. Now the gas crisis was here long before May 1 when the deal was set, so who is kidding who?

*NOTICE- as we are experiencing the current administration is denying residents freedom of information which is theirs, this to hide their on goings with YOUR money. Forms will be available to download and print for a motion to submit to court for breaking the law, FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 5 U.S.C. § 552 As Amended in 2002,conceals or destroys any such record shall be guilty of a violation. The foils are being answered in 5 days but withheld by CCatherineGreene hired by supervisor Nolan for weeks to months illegally. In the mean time you can look for form to submit Article 78A Writ of Mandamus .
Article 78 of the New York State CPLR provides a mechanism for actions, or inactions, of a government agency or official to be challenged in court. One can seek in an Article 78A Writ of Mandamus to compel a government agency or official to do something they are required by law to do.

SEE_disgracing the town
Why is everything being blamed on the “”past administration?””. Funny Bodkin was a big part of the past administration. Remember using the town car over 30,000 miles more than the others, working in NYC instead of here being paid over 88,000. To say what a mess, you were part of the mess and never showed up for the job or said a word about the so called mess.
*************************************************

See- all for one. Just pay taxes here and work some- where else. The jobs go to my friends first, even if I have to make them up. The residents are only good enough to pay their salaries.
5/13-The supervisor lies to newsday to cover his misusing. We can not stand for this anymore. This is a disgrace to this town and its workers. Full report for the town workers and taxpayers --your money spent selfishly over $5 MILLION DOLLARS and climbing---See - Disgracing the town
Needs to account now for the over 5 million spent, so there goes the raises and hello tax bill.

Airport scam it cost the taxpayers $17,000--see airport hot air
Records also indicated and show Spirit Airlines being brought in is a poor grand stand show. This airlines was booted out of here years ago for never paying. Records show it took years of court fees and effort to fight for $90,000 they would not pay. We the taxpayers foot this bill. Obviously he did not think we would find this out. The lease being paid for Bayport Aerodome is such a sweet deal how could all of Al Werners friends refuse, it is the hang out- no money coming in to speak of.

**It seems we have not gotten away from corruption, it only has a new name and crew. You can change that, not just sit back and watch while complaining, you work too hard.

Famous last and repeated words by Supervisor Nolan, "I'm going to save hundreds for the taxpayers," but he's spending thousands. You do the math. He doesn't think you can figure it out, plus word to him is you don't care. So it's open season on spending your hard earned money.
It's getting obvious the supervisor is giving newsday lies on top of lies , but what is worst, they print them without checking.

see--gps fraud4/23 Suffolk life----Tension between Flotteron and the Democrats erupted at the February 26 board meeting, where Flotteron decried Nolan's "transition team," of which he is not a member, as a secretive committee that doesn't seek his input on town issues. He said last week he is committed to making Islip a more open government than it currently is. Nolan shot back,(sounds like a nerve was hit, the recklessness comes out) "I've made Islip more open than anybody. Everything we do is transparent. There are no secrets here."--Sorry, not giving freedom of information on issues which we pay for, it's law, your hiding many secrets along with breaking many laws.

Just in, allegedly from a very good source the entire story from Islips part of newsday was a "FARCE". Vehicles are being sold that were already set to be. Ones that are old and not used, fabricating the story for publicity is beyond words for the taxpayers who's pockets are financially being abused for ones self. But wait... see gps fraud
Yes, when the heat is on a quick story to try and keep the light faced in a different direction. SEE- Vehicle abuse

Long Island Business-- news residents need to know too, the business the supervisor runs also his own was reported- Today, Nolan’s company controls about 14 miles of sponsored miles on Sunrise Highway, and the Long Island and Seaford-Oyster Bay expressways. Sponsors of the miles pay between $400 and $600 per month, suggesting that Nolan’s firm grosses between $75,000 and $100,000 per year.
Nolan’s son is in charge of the clean-up work, Nolan told LIBN. The firm operates from his home.
Nolan declined to divulge the names of sponsors on his firm’s miles, but they include Jiffy Lube, P.C. Richard & Son, Hilton Inn Express, Major’s Steakhouse and Aquarius Limousine Corp., according to a list supplied by the state Department of Transportation.
DOT placed Nolan’s company on probation in October, citing consistently poor ratings from state inspectors and slow response to complaints. Nolan’s firm is only the second firm put on probation during the program’s 10-year history. **********************************************
Well, Supervisor Nolan sure loves sports, even uses his checks as tennis balls, they bounce. Not only do they bounce but it is against the law to use a false address, one that is not your legal residence, some example. So how do invites go out from Mr Nolan asking for money when he gives bad checks out, but wants you to give? A check given to the Committee of Steve Israel for $500 from our example setter for this town Mr. Nolan bounced, insufficient funds and one with wrong address.
*************************************************
1/22-- see GPS fraud. How can Brookhaven state it will cost over $250,000 and Mr Nolan can't account for his financially. 200 free, please. The rest so he says NO SUCH DOCUMENTS EXSIST, per foil! What possibly was the request for Mr Nolan to have another $47,000 no explanation, put in to his new comptroller (friend from Huntington)?
***********************************************
We now see the Supervisor has been caught trying to seek in Brookhavens town attorney, hoping no one knows the town law! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the town attorney we have! Why is the supervisor PUSHING for non-residents to have jobs here, take our money and spend it else where. see --Caught------Newsday should put any person they speak with under oath for comments. While Islip Republicans said yesterday they'd like to see the job go to an Islip resident, Nolan pointed out that past Republican-controlled boards had hired or retained commissioners, including an airport commissioner and a town comptroller, who did not meet the residency requirement. Commissioners do not have to reside here, Nolan should have thought about that remark as the residents and tax payers should again be reminded "he knew the comptroller did not reside here and said he didn't care he owned him!" Now obviously the Comptroller didn't want and was not going to be owned. The supervisor, deputy supervisor, town attorney, comptroller, town engineer are the only ones whom HAVE TO be a resident, due to a resolution passed years ago that residence will have priority for other positions. "But that we have seen now is not holding any water."
See --one for all
